For small teams using CosmoApps as a practical working system.
For CRM, client portals and operational apps used by a real team.
For applications that become important, heavily used or require dedicated infrastructure.
The final plans will be normalized around resources that actually affect cost: storage, application operations, function calls, AI usage, internal users, external clients and public access. This keeps Micro useful but prevents one tiny subscription from consuming enterprise-level resources.
Pricing makes more sense when you see the full journey. Most customers can start in the CosmoApps cloud, keep costs low while the application is small, and only move to their own Azure or private hosting when the application becomes important enough to justify it.
Exact limits will be adjusted during pilots. The principle is stable: Free is for exploration, Micro is a useful tiny app, Team is for real work, and Own Azure is the path for growth.
CosmoApps cloud is the easiest way to start: no Azure account, no deployment and no server administration. But if your application grows, you can export the model and data and run it in your own Azure or private environment.
This is not just a lock-in argument. Under Microsoft’s current Azure terms, many small and even moderately sized CosmoApps applications can run in a customer-owned Azure account with very low infrastructure cost — sometimes close to zero — while staying within Microsoft’s free-tier limits.
CosmoApps does not sell or guarantee Microsoft’s free tier. Microsoft can change these terms, and actual cost depends on region, configuration, storage, traffic, logs, backups and usage pattern. But while these limits exist, they are a very practical bonus for small and medium-sized companies.
According to Microsoft documentation, Cosmos DB free tier currently provides the first 1000 RU/s and 25 GB of storage free for the lifetime of one free-tier account per Azure subscription. Azure Functions Consumption plan currently includes a monthly free grant of 1 million requests and 400,000 GB-s per subscription.
